Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) Program
WATCH D.O.G.S.® is an innovative program used by many schools across the country encouraging the direct involvement of dads in their child’s school, during the school day.
The program title reads Dads of Great Students. However, we know that there are many positive father figures in the lives of our children. Watch D.O.G.S. volunteers can be step-dads, grandfathers, uncles, close friends of the family, or even a male community member who would like to volunteer their time in the school.

Safety Detectives: In Hot Pursuit - Assembly
In line with Fire Safety, we are welcoming the National Theatre for Children on Monday, October 23 to present a safety show, Safety Detectives: In Hot Pursuit. Prior to this assembly, teachers will share a video with the class and distribute an activity workbook for your child to work on independently in school. Please know these activities are intended to enhance our focus on supporting safe practices at school and home, without disrupting our focus on our daily lesson plans.
If you would like to access all the videos, digital workbook, and digital games/activities at home, please click here.
New to Discovery: Master Maker Badges!
This year we are introducing Master Maker badges in Discovery. Each month, Mrs. Bowers will challenge students to do a STEAM challenge, or creation project, at home. If you take a picture of the finished project and share it with Mrs. Bowers, they can earn a "brick" for their Master Maker badge (1 brick for each month). This is completely OPTIONAL; it's just a fun way to incorporate the 4Cs and Project Based Learning into everyday activities at home. We encourage the entire family "to MAKE" together! Mrs. Bowers will share ideas on Class Dojo monthly, and you can always find "Discovery @Home" ideas on our class website:https://sites.google.com/share.wilsonsd.org/ctdiscovery

4th Graders: FREE "Every Kid in a Park"
Blue Marsh has passes for 4th graders to participate in the "Every Kid in a Park" program which focuses on getting kids in the outdoors and to parks. While the passes are for 4th graders, they allow the carload to enter any Federal Recreation Area for free through August 2018. A regular (America the Beautiful pass) costs $80/year for park entry or $20/day. If you are interested in acquiring a 4th grade pass, you need to bring your 4th grader to the park with a paper voucher to exchange for the pass. Please visit https://www.everykidinapark.
