    Watch D.O.G.S.
     
     
    Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) 
     
    Attention all fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers and uncles - we want you to come to school to be a part of WATCH D.O.G.S! This a nationally recognized program that began in 1998. The program focuses on safety and education in schools by using the positive influence of fathers and father figures.  
    Its purpose is twofold: 
    1.  to provide an unobtrusive fathering presence in school, and
    2.  to provide a positive and active role model for students at the school.   
     
     
     

    What will Watch D.O.G.S. do at Shiloh Hills?

    Watch D.O.G.S. can volunteer one day in the school during the school year. Your morning will begin in the office where you will be given your schedule of activities for that day. The activities that you do will help support many different students and the overall learning environment of our school. Examples of activities could include:

    · greet students and give them high fives as they enter the building in the morning

    · listen to a student read to you or you may read to them

    · practice flashcards with a student(s)
    · participate in learning centers
    · assist your child’s teacher and other teachers in the school 
    · participate in your child's special with them

    Built into your schedule will be the chance for you to have recess and lunch in the cafeteria with your child or children. We will provide a school lunch for your. Remember to wear your sneakers for recess!

     
    Reminder - All volunteers must have a clearance and a record check.  Anyone interested in participating in WATCH D.O.G.S. program should start the clearance paperwork as soon as possible. Clearances can be obtained online and are free for volunteers.
