WALLOPS ISLAND AP ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE/AP BIOLOGY TRIP

 

WHERE:                Wallops Island, Virginia

 

WHEN:                  TBD-always first or second weekend in April

                                -We will leave from the front of the High School at 8:00 a.m. on Friday and return at about 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday

 

INCLUDES:        -round trip transportation by van

                                -four nights lodging

                                -breakfasts Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday

                                -lunches Saturday, Sunday, and Monday

                                -dinners Friday, Sunday, Monday

                                -all instructional fees, lab usage fees, boat fees, and entrance fees                           

                                -“early morning birding at no additional charge”

                               

COST:                   -approx. $450-includes all the above

                           -students will need money for lunches on the way down and home, early morning wake-up snacks before we go birding, two trips to the ice cream shop, and any souvenirs they might wish to purchase, e.g. T-shirts

                               

PAYMENTS:        -an $100 deposit is due by mid-November

                          -refunds: we will refund as much of your payment as possible if something unexpected happens, but please understand there are certain costs that cannot be recovered and these increase as you approach the trip

WALLOPS ISLAND PERMISSION FORM

 

__________________________________________________________(print full name) has my permission to go on the Wilson High School field trip to Wallops Island, Virginia on April (TBD) at a cost to the student of $450.00.  We will be leaving the High School at 8:00 a.m. on Friday and returning at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

 

                We will be stopping for something to eat on the way down and on the way home.  We also go out for ice cream or pizza after our evening labs.  On Monday night we generally go out to eat at a nice local restaurant (we usually provide them with $10-15 for this meal and they must cover the rest).  Your son or daughter will need money for the aforementioned activities.  All other meals and expenses are included.

 

                This trip is extension of  our school so all school rules and policies apply.  Students are expected to act as mature young adults and represent our school accordingly.
