                              Language Arts 
     
     Early literacy concepts are developed naturally through a variety of reading and writing experiences. CAP (Concepts About Print) include distinguishing between print and pictures, understanding the concepts of letters and words, and learning that we read from top to bottom and from left to right. These concepts will provide the children with the background that they need to begin to read. The children will be introduced to a variety of Shared Reading experiences which will include read alouds, songs, rhymes and poetry. With our many Shared Reading activities, the children learn the use of high-frequency words, spaces between words, ending punctuation and capitalization. By the end of kindergarten, all of the  children will be reading texts of varying difficulty. It is very exciting to witness our young learner's growth!
