Watch D.O.G.S.
The school year marks the fourth year for the Spring Ridge Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program! Last year, fathers, step-fathers, uncles and a grandfather gave us over 60 days of their time to help in every way imaginable. They are our Heroes for a Day, smiling and encouraging all of the children to do and be their very best! The program’s nationally recognized success has hinged on bringing male role models into the educational process. Watch D.O.G.S. has a twofold purpose:
1. to provide an unobtrusive fathering presence, and
2. to provide a positive and active role model for students at the school.
These male role models spend one or more days in their student’s school as a volunteer. They support our school by monitoring school property, working with students one-on-one or in small groups, reading, using flashcards, playing at recess, and just plain listening to PLANT SEEDS OF SUCCESS.
The Watch D.O.G.S. program is offered by the National Center For Fathers and has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. For more information please visit www.Fathers.com
