    AP stands for Advanced Placement. These are college level classes taught in high schools throughout the country. Students enrolled in these classes are required to take the AP exam administered in May of every year. There is a cost for the exam ($94/test EXCEPT for AP Research and AP Seminar which are $142/test) which is paid for by the student. (In some cases, fee reduction is available, please talk to Mrs. Andrieux or Mrs. Chestnut for further details.) If the student scores well enough (3, 4 or 5...highest possible is a 5) the class could be accepted by the college they are interested in for credit. Students are advised to research this with the college of their choice to see if the grade for the AP exam is accepted by the college.

    Students who are enrolled in an AP class and decide they do not wish to take the AP exam must notify Mrs. Andriuex by October 14, 2018. If this occurs, the class title will be changed to reflect "honors level" and the student will receive the honors weighting for the class instead of the AP weighting.
