    Course Description:

    Students will examine health issues, consequences of personal choices, and develop actions plans to address various risk behaviors that impact their health status.  The course presents critical issues relevant to today’s health conscious citizen with contemporary approaches to achieve/maintain a healthy life status. Students will learn about a variety of critical health topics and openly discuss their opinions and views.   The following topics will be explored: Mind & Body: Stress, Nutrition, and Fitness; Prevention Strategies: Tobacco & Drugs, Alcohol, Non-communicable Diseases; Life Cycle Events: Relationships,  Reproduction, Human Sexuality, Birth, Dying and Death; and Health Care Consumer Issues (based on Reading Area Community College Expectation).  Successful completion of the course will lead to Reading Area Community College credit (HEA 110).
