FOOD ALLERGIES

Notification for students with food allergies are submitted to the building nurse.  The nurse communicates the allergy information to Food Services. If a student has a disability that requires substitutions or modifications in the school meals program, a physician's note must be sent to the school nurse which indicates what specific dietary modification must be made to the child's diet and signed by a licensed physician. Once the school nurse informs the Food Service Coordinator of the situation, most likely a conversation with the parents, student, and nurse will need to take place to determine what the best plan will be to deal with the dietary disability.  If there has been a change to your child’s allergy condition, notification of the change will need to be  signed by a licensed physician and submitted to the school nurse.
