• Curriculum:

    Language Arts
     
     

    Language Arts consists of Reading, Writing, Grammar and Handwriting. Students will be placed in guided reading groups according to test results. Lessons are presented in mini-lesson form and students are expected to work in pairs or independently on reading and writing. Focus will be on improving writing skills and reading a variety of literature from our Treasures program.

    Grammar activities from the Treasures program will teach and reinforce grammar and spelling skills. Students will be evaluated by means of quizzes.

    Math

    EnVision Math Program. Students who know their addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts will be at a definite advantage.

    Social Studies

    The curriculum includes geography, history, and government of Pennsylvania.

    • Family day trips to places of interest will enrich your child's study of our state.
    • Encourage your child to read a daily newspaper to become aware of our local and state current events.
    Science

    The following units are studied: light and the eye, sound and the ear, electricity, ecology, the solar system and plants.
    Hands-on activities are frequently parts of the lessons.
