    Attendance policy and make-up work:

If you are absent from school and it is an excused absence, it is your responsibility to see me regarding any make-up work.  You will have two weeks to complete your assignments and still receive credit. If you miss a test, you have one week to make up the test before or after school or during a study hall.  If there is an extended absence, please contact me so special arrangements may be made.

Class is very important and some activities cannot be repeated.  If you miss such an activity you will receive a zero. Please don’t be absent as it will create work for all of us.

    Cooking Laboratories:

If at all possible, there will be one cooking lab per week.  Everyone is expected to participate and wear a clean apron and tie back long hair for proper sanitation. (Points will be deducted from lab grade if long hair is not tied back and an apron is not worn each day.)

    ·     Any misconduct during labs will not be tolerated.  You will be removed from the lab and will receive a “0” for the lab.

    ·     Kitchens are to be left clean and in order before the end of class, unless arrangements have been made with the teacher.

    ·     If a cooking lab is missed, students must complete a make up lab at home.

Cooking labs are worth 20 points each.

     Unit folders:

Each kitchen unit will maintain a folder containing plan sheets, job descriptions, recipes, food costs, housekeeping reports, nutritional analysis, food evaluations and any group activities.  These will be graded at the end of each group activity.
