• Welcome to Fashion and Interior Design

    This is a year long introductory course that is roughly divided into four sections. The first unit will focus on the history and details of fashion design. You will learn the parts of a garment, how fashion has changed through history, and learn about fashion designers. 
     
    In the next unit of the course, you will learn the basics of sewing, finishing seams, basics of textiles, fabric printing, and create sewing projects. Students will also sew pillows for breast cancer patients as a service project.
     
     
    The third unit you with learn the basics of interior design. At the end of this unit you will demonstrate your skills by work with a client and create a mood and design a space according to their physical needs. 

    In the last quarter of the year, you will propose a final project and create your own rubric. This project can be from the interiors, fashion, or textiles unit. Each project must be approved by the teacher and must be able to be completed before the end of the marking period.
