About Contest Corner
This page provides information regarding writing contests that become available throughout the school year. If you like to write or are interested in a particular subject area, one of these contests may be perfect for you. Why not give a contest a try. You cannot win if you never try!
If you decide to enter a contest, be sure to submit the materials to me a few days before the due date to ensure that they arrive on time. Also if you would like for me to help you with your entries along the way - revise, edit, or help with paperwork - please email me and we can set-up a meeting time. I tend to be available during ACE, period 6, and immediately after school until 3:15.

- This contest requires you to pretend you are writing a journal while visiting one of our nation's 58 national parks. This may appeal to you if you are an outdoor enthusiast, love to learn about history and/or nature, or have visited a park in the past. It is a great opportunity to combine both creative and informational writing.
- The specifics of the contest can be found below - just click on the link. Some highlights include the following: this contest is available for 5-8 graders, the journal needs to be 600-1000 words, and the essay submission deadline is Friday, December 23, 2016 (however, if you would like me to submit the essay for you, I will need it no later than December 19).
