Syllabus
How does art impact the world and how does the world impact art?
This course works with improving students’ awareness of their world, observation skills, rendering, color identification skills and visual and expressive problem solving. Students become comfortable mixing paint and applying color. The class will begin to develop their own style and explore their own themes for subject matter. Students will see a variety of historical and contemporary artwork and interpret their perceptions.

Grading
70% = project
30% = journals, writing responses, reflections, criticism.
